Americans want job stability
Is the Great Reshuffle losing steam? Maybe. In the face of economic uncertainty, many Americans are planning on staying put. Nearly half of workers surveyed by payroll services company Paychex said they plan to stick with their current employer for at least the next 12 months. Job stability was the main driver behind that choice — along with passion for their work, a strong support system and opportunities for career growth, all which are frequently cited as motivating factors by job hoppers.
- Job switchers, however, are earning more than those who stay with their employers.
