- [Instructor] There are situations that you may find yourself in to where you may have a remote office in your organization that has enough users that makes it worth justifying have a domain controller locally in that office so that they can log in quickly and easily, but you don't have any IT or security staff out in that remote office which would help keep that domain controller secure, which is something of importance, so you don't want that machine to be compromised 'cause a lot of damage can be done to your environment if somebody gains access to a domain controller. So, the solution that Microsoft gives us is something called a read-only domain controller, which is a domain controller which can provide full services to the users in that remote office, but no configuration changes can be made, all right?
