- [Instructor] We can use Storage Pools and Storage Spaces to create a new disk in Windows Server 2019. Starting in 2012 R2 an addition was made to also differentiate between speeds. We can tell the Storage Wizard how much of our disks are fast and how much are regular speed. It will then use the faster disks for more frequently used data. This will speed up the overall experience. We're going to start by typing get-physicaldisk, and this is going to tell us what we have hard drive wise on our server. So we see on the right-hand side there's various different size drives. We're going to use the two five-gigabyte hard drives to get started. The next thing we need to do is we need to find out the unique ID. Now you see the device ID in the left-hand side. That's not the same as the unique ID as you'll see here in a second.
