- Recruiting for virtual positions can yield great opportunities in increasing diversity for organizations. Suppose the company sits in a location where it has historically struggled to find variety in talent. Expanding the recruiting boundaries geographically allows for marketing to a wider audience with varying perspectives and experiences. Recruiting for diversity in fields where diversity has been low, sporadic, or nonexistent means you're going to have to take the time to do some research. For example, what are the historical dynamics of women in technology? What do we need to consider about the culture of the organization we're recruiting for? What's the company reputation? Maybe this is a barrier, and we need to address it with the hiring teams. Be transparent, meaning don't fake it.
