- [Instructor] Creating images and videos has been revolutionized due to a machine learning model called Generative Adversarial Networks, or GANs. GANs is a machine learning model that has improved appearance in video generation, by outputting new or never-seen-before photos and videos that are often difficult to tell apart from the real ones. The GAN models consist of two components, a generator that creates the new data, a discriminator that evaluates the realism of the generated data. While these are things that you don't need to understand while operating a GAN model, it's helpful that you know at least the basics of how it works. GANs have grown in popularity recently, but they require a lot of computing power to operate, and thus the need for cloud computing.
