- So, when I meet with my clients, one of the most important things, top of mind ideas, is to get a financial plan in place. It can seem really daunting, even for adults, but the good news is with a little bit of preparation, you can actually start financial planning right at home with your kids, really. I mean think about the last time you planned your vacation. You had to think about where you were going to stay, where you want to eat, it's the same sort of concept. So, what you want to do is get the kids together at a table, and put together your main three important financial goals. They don't have to be overwhelming goals, it could be as simple as figuring out where you want to eat next week, and how you're going to fund that dinner, or that picnic at the park. Whatever it may be, list 'em out, make them really simple, attainable, and work on 'em hand in hand together to be able to reach that goal. I love to see you plan in three buckets.
