- If you're concerned and want to talk to a team member about their mental health you're already being a supportive manager and you're way ahead of the curve. It shows you're a decent human being and a responsible leader, but if you're going to do it let's make sure you get it right. The key things here are understanding that they don't have to share with you, that logistics matter and that statement of your intention is critical. If you ask your team member about their mental health they have no obligation to share with you. All you can do is explain your observations and concerns and offer the conversation, but it's up to them if they want to take you up on it.
