Define the distributed system
- [Instructor] In a prior video, I introduced use case diagramming as a starting point for function analysis. In this video, we're going to walk through defining a product concept for function analysis, starting with use cases as the entry point. The product we're considering is a writing and sketching device that can be carried around and used anywhere, but allows the user to wirelessly access and share documents. More specifically, the product's support use cases like taking notes away from the office or computer. Imagine an Architect on a construction site reading and annotating PDFs, like a professor, perhaps reviewing student work. Sketching design ideas, and teaching or illustrating and presenting. Schematically, each of these use case diagrams will look something like this. But they only become useful to us when we get specific about what each user actually needs from the product, in each situation.…
