Approaches to comprehensive tests
- [Instructor] The first thought when you get a new product to test is how you can cover absolutely everything. There is an intrinsic desire from the quality standpoint to be thorough. However, you're going to be facing an immediate challenge in the form of time. Unless your product is incredibly simple, conducting an exhaustive and complete test isn't realistic. When we use the word comprehensive, we are thinking complete. In fact, the meaning of the word suggests nearly all or all the elements of something. It's defined as everything that is necessary. That is where your focus needs to be when creating a strategy. You want to evaluate your testing, accomplish everything that needs to be done and eliminate redundant or unnecessary testing.
