- [Instructor] Once you enter a bug into a bug-tracking database, it takes on a life of its own. It is no longer simply one of a litany of issues discovered during your testing. Each individual bug begins a journey from submission to management to closure and archiving. During this time, some bugs will be debated, discussed, delegated, fought over, or simply fixed. Each bug's life begins with submission. When you document the bug in the tracking system, you'll see it get assigned a tracking number. That number becomes its moniker for discussion. Developers, internal team members, and others will reference the bug number to help quickly identify which issue you are discussing. Once the bug is in the system, its category will determine who is going to examine it. In smaller companies, that may be the same person for everything. In large companies, you may have several developers who own a small piece of the entire…
