Regulations and bans of TikTok threaten growth
Since TikTok is owned by ByteDance, a Chinese company, the US, as well as other governments, are concerned that the app's access to user data could be a security threat. That's because it's unclear as to what extent China's government is involved with the company, given their security laws allow them TikTok has denied giving access to their user data to the Chinese government, specifically user data from the 150 million Americans actively using the service on a monthly basis.
