- [Instructor] Let's talk through AWS authentication patterns that are specific to AI workloads in AWS. If we look at these patterns, they're crucial because AI is a specific challenge, and in particular the model axis and data retrieval is an important component of this. So we're going to look at three different authentication layers that work together to secure an AI application. First up, we have the user authentication layer, and this is how you interact with the AI application. If a user attempts to access an application, they're going to have to go through two critical checkpoints. First, the user authenticates through Amazon Cognito, which is a serverless authentication service, or it goes through IM identity center. And this establishes the identity. It provides initial access tokens, and also the authentication flow supports various methods like username and password or federated identities, for example, using Gmail.
