Personal branding and your personal pyramid
- Brands help define our beliefs and they telegraph our affiliations. We use brands and symbols to create our allegiances and we utilize all sorts of manmade things, religious marks, national flags, family crests, wedding rings, campaign buttons, baseball hats, running shoes, all to signify these affiliations. Everything we consume now, even the most basic commodities like water and salt are brands. Experiences are brands, buildings are brands, Broadway musicals are brands. We construct logos on eggs and toilet bowls and we even use them to mark our bodies with tattoos. The truth is that humans love brands.
