- I found an old rotary telephone. It's delightfully mechanical with a dial, bell, and handset. I couldn't resist opening it up, and once inside, couldn't resist adding a Raspberry Pi. In previous episodes, we connected the Raspberry Pi to the phone's switches, speaker, and ringer. Finally, it's time to record sound from the telephone microphone. Since the Raspberry Pi doesn't have audio input, this is more complex than you might think. In this first part of a two-part series, I'll discuss the hardware you need to add.
