Solution: Subsetting

- [Instructor] Working with big data almost always involves subsetting the dataset. You only want the parts that you're interested in, and it's kind of like eating a watermelon. When you eat a watermelon, you don't eat the rind and you don't eat the seeds. All you want is the delicious red melon. Essentially, you are subsetting that watermelon to the only parts you're interested in, and that's what we've done with this world population dataset. I ask you to find the world population data for countries with population densities greater than the median density for the year 2021, and told you that you could use the medium variant. Let's take a look at that dataset first of all before we go any further, and you'll see that we have several rows, or observations, and lots of columns, also called variables.
