The power of a digital detox
- We are always on these days, and the data is reflecting this. This since the pandemic, people have increased connectivity substantially. We now spend around a third of our waking hours on mobile, up 20% in the pandemic. Most of this can be attributed to our new virtual ways of working and separation from family and friends during COVID-19 isolation and distancing rules. However, there is an impact to always being on, and it isn't healthy. We need to help our staff remove the constant barrage of tech that is overwhelming them both at work and in life. So here are some tips to help. Encourage daily walks. Have staff block off 20 minute chunks in their calendar and celebrate when those times occur in order to show support and model the same behavior.
