Lack of fairness

- Fairness at work, also known as organizational justice, is a key element in the prevention of burnout. When there's a lack of fairness, it reduces morale, and several studies have found that it can actually cause depression. Organizational justice consists of three main forms, distributive, procedural and interactional. Distributive justice happens when employees believe that outcomes are equitable, like pay, promotions, and positive feedback. Procedural justice focuses on the fairness of the decision-making or process that leads to these outcomes. This occurs when our employees believe they are safe to voice their opinion and that processes are consistent, they're accurate, ethical, and unbiased. Interactional justice focuses on the way decisions are executed.
