As mentioned in a previous section, Jira comes with project management templates, specifically for software development. The Kanban template helps teams visualize work and limit work in progress. Work is tracked on a simple board and there's a simple three-step workflow. The Scrum template is more complex. It helps teams work together using work cycles called sprints. This project type includes the concept of a backlog to prioritize, plan and rank work. Additionally, the board contains features for estimation. Finally, the bug tracking template focuses on managing defects but it can be used for the entire development process too.
