Practice reframing
- Imagine you have two pairs of glasses with special powers. One pair suddenly makes everything dull and blah. But when you put on the second pair, the world transforms. Everything is bright technicolor, just like Dorothy stepping into the land of Oz. Your energy shifts, too. You feel motivated and hopeful. Often when we're overthinking, it's like wearing the first pair of glasses. We get stuck in self-defeating thoughts, and we don't see possibilities. Switching to the second pair of glasses is what can happen when we reframe our thoughts. Reframing involves purposefully changing your lens. It's all about shifting to a different perspective, so you can creatively problem-solve, make better decisions and be nicer to yourself while you're at it.
