Map the strategic priorities

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there. That's why we always start our organization design thinking about strategy. Strategy defines your goal and lays the path to get there. It makes clear the choices you've made for how the company will grow and compete and it provides the north star against which all design decisions will be made. Remember, organization is not the goal. Your organization is simply a mechanism for achieving your strategy. Do you have to be an expert at strategy development to do good organization design? No. Most important is that the leadership team has made choices - what to pursue and what not to - and is clear about the sources of competitive advantage. As long as the strategy work answers these questions, you can move forward. Let me show you how to make the link between strategy and organization.
