课程: Navigating Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) at Work
Welcome to this course
- Do you ever feel FOMO? If you're not sure what I mean by that, let me explain. FOMO, also known as the fear of missing out, is the anxiety that there's something going on that's better or more exciting than what you're doing right now. And in the modern world, a world in which we are so connected to screens, process so much information, and hear about so many more opportunities than we could ever possibly hope to explore, it's natural to feel FOMO all the time. FOMO is also a major force in the modern workplace. With so many of us working remotely and so much happening all the time, it's easier than ever to feel like you're missing out. That's why I'm here to help. I'm Patrick J. McGinnis. Today, I'm a venture capitalist, but back when I was an MBA student in the early 2000s, I invented the word FOMO. Now, all these years later, FOMO has become a global phenomenon. It's even made it into the dictionary. And since it's everywhere, I also spend my time traveling the world, teaching people how to overcome their FOMO. I've even written a book on the subject and I host a podcast called "FOMO Sapiens." In this course, I'll teach you how to identify FOMO, unpack it, and then overcome it. I'll also show you how to manage technology and your brain to accept that sometimes you just have to miss out and that's okay. I'll show you how to reframe FOMO in order to turn it into a force for good. And here's the thing. If you learn to use your FOMO to get things done, it can be a superpower. So, join me for overcoming FOMO at work.
