Manage technology to manage FOMO
- A while back, I was in Turkmenistan. At the time I was visiting the country, social media was outlawed and connectivity was almost zero. And so, the fuel to my FOMO, such as the information that causes me to compare myself to others and results in reference anxiety just wasn't there. It was quite amazing. I didn't feel any FOMO at all. But unless you live in Turkmenistan, technology will constantly serve up stimuli in the form of posts, updates and notification that try to convince you that you're missing out on something truly life-changing.
