LEFT and FIND with Excel
(upbeat bell music) - Hey, I'm Kat, and you have now entered the Excel kitchen where we cook up some Excel tricks and have fun doing so. Our first recipe combines two delicacies, the left function, and we have the find function. And when we mix these together, we can pull the first name out of our cell. Tastes like we got a feisty boss on our hands. Let's get to it. Now, the first thing we do is type our left function. And then for the amount of characters to extract, we use a fine function and find the space between the names. Then we reference our cell and remember to minus one so we don't include that space. Copy your function down and boom. There we have it. Got any other Excel recipes you want me to test out? Drop it in the comments and I'll get cooking.
