Words that raise your stature

- When pitching your ideas, make sure that the words you use raise your stature, not undercut it. I mean phrasing your ideas in succinct terms, like, "I recommend," "I propose," "I question," "I expect," "I urge," "I advise." These are strong actions we associate with leaders. Use them. Stay away from "I think," "I believe," "I suppose," "I suggest," "I guess," all of which lessen the strength of your message. This ensures that the power of your idea is matched by the power of your words.
