- From the chat section in Teams, you can start a call or a meeting. Calls and meetings are very similar, but they do have some important differences, so we will see how to start both from a chat and see how they're different. So I'm starting in the Chat section. I have Chat selected in the sidebar on the left, and you should go to the chat conversation with the people you want to call. I already have a conversation active with Garrick. I have that selected, and you'll notice that he is an external contact, meaning he's not in my organization, but all of this will still work even with external contacts.
