Merging data sets
- [Instructor] Do you have a need to bring in external information? Well, I do. I want to bring in salary rates for each resource, so that I can multiply it times the effort to get an overall assignment cost. Since it's in Excel, I'm going to use the Home ribbon and get the data from Excel workbook. Here, I have a resource file that I've already created with the names and their unique IDs. So I'm going to select Open. It's going to prompt me with which worksheet it was on. Since I only have one worksheet, that's why I only get one. And it gives me a preview of that information, the resource, the salary rate, and their unique ID, and I'll press Load. It's loaded in the unique information and now created a new table in my field list over here. And of course I can expand it out and see the Resource Name, Salary Rate, and Unique ID.
