What you need to know
- [Instructor] This course includes some demonstrations and there are times that you might choose to work along with me or poke around in your installation to see the things that I'm talking about. To do so, you'll need to have some software. Specifically, you'll need to have Microsoft Teams, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365 or Office 365, and Yammer. And with all of these, you need to have sufficient permission to be able to create things. For example, in Teams you'll need permission to create a team. Or, in Microsoft 365, to create a new Microsoft 365 group. If you're uncertain about any of your permissions, talk to the appropriate person in your IT department who is the administrator for Microsoft 365, for SharePoint, and so on. I also assume that you have knowledge of or experience with collaborating in at least a couple of these tools, perhaps in all four. But if you'd like to pause right now and get some additional information about how to use these apps, I have some resources to recommend from the LinkedIn Learning Library. For Microsoft Teams, the go-to course is Microsoft Teams Essential Training by Nick Brazzi. For SharePoint Online, check out my course, SharePoint Online Essential Training: The Basics. And, if you'd like more, there's a Beyond the Basics course as well. And for Yammer, come spend some time with me in Yammer Essential Training. All of these courses are end user courses that show you how to use the applications. So if you've not used the new Yammer, dive into Yammer Essential Training. At the end of this course, I'll provide some additional recommendations, not for end users as much as for those of us who need to manage and administer collaboration tools in our workplace.
