External identities and guest access

External identities and guest access

- An external identity is a person, device, service, application, etcetera, that is outside your organization. With External Identities, we're enabling our external users to bring their own identities. There are two main elements of External Identities in Azure. The first one is B2B collaboration. In this case, you're letting external users use their preferred identity to sign in to your Microsoft or other enterprise applications. Typically, B2B collaboration users are represented in your directory as guest users. The second one is Azure Active Directory, B2C or Business to Consumer. A use case for this is when you create a server as a service solution and want users to use their social identities. For example, their Google account, LinkedIn account, Facebook account, et cetera.
