- [Narrator] Let's talk now about cloud pricing models. So we have two pricing models fixed-cost and consumption model. So let's talk about their main traits. First one, for the fixed-cost pricing model we have upfront investments. So in this case, you have to make upfront payments for the infrastructure that you're buying and you're charged for the resources, whether or not they are used. And finally, this is an example of capital expenditure. On the other hand, we have the consumption model. And here there's no need to purchase resources beforehand. You only pay for what you use. And this is an operational expenditure example. So here's a practice question for you. In the consumption model, you must make up-front investments. Is this true or is this false? That's right. This is false, because you don't have to make upfront investments in the consumption model. You only pay for what you use.
