课程: Managing Your Job Seeker Mindset
Managing your job-seeking mindset
- In a job search, your best asset and, often, your biggest liability is your mindset. - That is for sure. As an experienced interviewer, I can size up your mindset by the conviction in your voice, by your expressions, by your body language and stance. If you're hearing negative messages in your head, well, I'm pretty much hearing them, too. - That's why it's essential to have the right mindset, a positive mindset throughout your job search, especially at the beginning. - You know, I can tell a lot about a candidate's mindset when they introduce themselves in person, by phone, even direct message. When they say things like, "I hate to bother you" or "I'm so sorry," or "I know you're really busy, but," then I know that the voice in their head is telling them, "You are not good enough." - And it probably makes you less interested in talking with them, right, Sus? - It does, sadly. A negative mindset can sabotage your job search, while a positive one can launch it. - A positive mindset is truly the foundation of a successful search, and we want to help you develop one. Hi, I'm Kelly Biskupiak. - And I'm Susan Rietano Davey. Kelly and I are co-owners and founders of Prepare to Launch U, a learning company for professionals experiencing work-life transitions. - In this course, we'll share strategies to help you develop and sustain a positive beneficial mindset that will lead the way through a successful job search. - And we hope you'll join us.
