- [Instructor] To get network information from the GUI, go to the top right-hand menu, click on Wired Connection, then Wired Settings. The default pane shows the network information, but if we click on the little gear icon in the bottom right-hand corner, we get more. The details pane shows network information including the network speed, IPv4 address, IPv6 address, MAC address, the default gateway, which is listed as the Default Route, and the primary DNS server. This does not show the network mask though. You'll need to use the command line for that. If you click on Identity, you can see the network interface name. We can also look at the Connect automatically box to see if the network interface is configured to be on automatically. You can also click on IPv4 or IPv6 to see how this information is acquired. And, if it's static, you will also see the network mask and additional DNS servers. Mine is automatically configured, so I don't see this information.
