And Linux's software update process handles the core operating system and any applications you may have installed. If we do updates and one of those updates is a kernel, you'll need to reboot the operating system. We have a couple of tools for installing software. Go to Applications, System Tools and the very top is Application Installer. This is a high level app store style tool, which will allow you to search for applications in a stall. It also has the ability to do updates. It doesn't show you as much detail as what we'd like so I would recommend using this tool for installing packages and seeing what's installed.
