- [Instructor] Chances are you'll need to work with files and folders or directories while you're using Ubuntu. So let's take a look at the basics. Here on my desktop, I can create a brand new folder. I'll right-click and then choose New Folder. Here I'm prompted to give it a name, so I'll call it MyFolder. The desktop put it down here in the corner, but I want it up in this corner, so I'll click and drag and then I'll drop it here. I'll make another folder as well. I'll right-click, I'll choose New Folder, and I'll call this one Other Folder. And again, I'll drag it to where I want it. I can double-click on this folder to open it up. Or if I want to open both of these folders at the same time, I can press the mouse button and drag to paint both icons with the selection box, and then I can right-click and choose Open All.
