Native install: Install Ubuntu on a PC
- [Instructor] Now that I have Ubuntu installer, I'm ready to install Ubuntu on my system. That system needs to be shut off. and it's a good idea to make a backup of it before we install. During the installation process, we'll be changing the configuration of the hard drive, and data currently on this computer's hard drive will be erased. It's useful to plug the PC into an ethernet network if that's available to you in order to download updates during the installation process. You can also join the PC to WiFi in the installer environment, but ethernet is a lot easier. Then we'll plug in the USB installer and power the system up, telling the computer to start up using that USB drive. To do this, we'll usually need to press a particular key during the computer startup sequence. We'll usually have to press F10 or F12 or something like that while the system is powering up.
