- [Instructor] Animations and transitions can add different visualization timed effects to your presentation. Animations are applied to text and graphic objects within a slide to show, hide, and emphasize items in a particular order. Transitions, on the other hand, are an effect that you can apply as one slide changes or as the name implies, transitions to the next slide. Let's start by taking a look at how this presentation appears while we're presenting it as a slideshow to an audience. We're going to go to the lower right corner on the status bar and select slideshow. This shows us the fullscreen representation of the presentation. Now notice as I use my right arrow and I go to the next slide that it's more of a harsh transition from that first slide to the second slide and the second slide to the third slide.
