- [Instructor] Let's take a quick tour of Excel Online. Actually, I should point out the official name for Excel's online solution is Excel For The Web. However, for this course, I'll be referring to it as Excel Online as this has a much nicer ring to it. Excel Online is an online service that comes standard with every Microsoft 365 subscription. And you should see Excel easily enough by clicking on the App Launcher icon here at the top left-hand side of the screen. Now, go ahead and open Excel by clicking on the Excel icon. Now, I'm using an Enterprise version of Excel here, so if you're using a personal account, then your screen may look a little bit different to mine but that's okay. Once you've opened up Excel Online, the features are pretty much the same. Once Excel Online is open, what you'll notice is that there are a number of predefined templates at the top of the screen, and recently used files at the bottom. But on this occasion, let's actually go ahead and create a new blank workbook by clicking on Blank Workbook here. At the top of the screen, we have menus and ribbons. These are used for applying Excel Online features to your workbook. If your menus and ribbons look different to what you can see here, then it's possible that you're actually in the desktop version of Excel. The easiest way to be sure you're using Excel Online is if you can see the nine squares here at the top left-hand side of the screen, otherwise known as the App Launcher icon. Or if it looks like you're using a web browser, then you're certainly working with the online version of Excel. And there you have it. That's a brief tour of Excel Online.
