Intro to open source LLMs on AWS
- Hi, my name is Noah Gift and I'm the founder of Pragmatic AI Labs. And this particular course is exciting because we cover how to take open source models. You've heard about these research models and people are constantly making new ones and fine tuning them, et cetera. How do we take that raw material and convert it so that we can build production systems with it? And this is really the trick is there are some tools that make it a little bit easier, like llama or llama file, but that's not necessarily going to get you to a production environment where you could build potentially a competing solution to a commercial product. And I think what we're going to see is the Solaris-based Linux approach where in the early days in the two thousands, Solaris was an amazing operating system, but eventually, the cost of free or Linux took over the proprietary Linux-based and Unix-based systems. We're also probably going to see that with large language models, where it is important to learn how to run these things yourself, fine tune them yourself, quantize them yourself. And that's really what this course is about, is empowering you to take back what's happening with generative AI and bring it to your nonprofit, to your education institute, to your organization. This is a really empowering series of demos that I've done and I really hope you can use these yourself to build freedom, autonomy, and also have the ability to have privacy when you deploy these models. So, very exciting course. I can't wait for you to take it and let me know what you think. Alright, let's go ahead and get started.
