- [Presenter] What is an array? An array is a type of object that stores collections of data in a single variable. Arrays are flexible, list-like objects. They are used frequently in JavaScript and can be transformed in a number of different ways. Arrays have built in properties and methods to allow us to utilize them as needed. By having a better understanding of how to use arrays to their great potential, you can write more clean, succinct code and reach solutions much more quickly. Let's consider a real world situation to give you a high-level example of how arrays are used. Here is a simple array of strings of all of my pet's names. As you can see, this is very list-like. The contents of the array could have been anything, numbers, booleans, objects. Taking the previous example one step further, our pets array now contains several objects.
