- [Instructor] Machine Learning can be enabled by algorithms in software to make predictions of our data, or in other words giving insights into the data and then making our IoT system smarter. A common task in Machine Learning is supervised learning, which can find out the functional relationship between the input and output of your data. Supervised learning can be applied to many IoT applications. For example, if we have collected two sets of machine data, one is for vibration measured by accelerometer sensors mounted on machines and the other is for the states of machines, we may use it to predict the possible machine conditions in the future for maintenance purposes. In supervised learning, outputting such qualitative states is called classification. For healthcare applications, we may collect the health data from patients over time and it will predict the health parameters in the future for these patients.
