Organizing a page with rules

- [Instructor] We can organize space through the use of rules, and this layout makes extensive use of rules for that purpose. Making up this two page spread, we have the main article, two supporting articles, and a table of contents. If we look at the same content without the rules, we see that it's much harder to navigate. So let's recreate them. I'm going to come to my parent page spread, I'll turn on my guides by pressing W. Press M to access my rectangle tool. And the first thing I want to do is draw my framing rectangle. The rules will all be a hairline in weight, or 0.25 of a point. So I've set my property to that weight before I start drawing with my rectangle tool. Now I need to offset this so that it doesn't collide with the text. I'll come and choose my top center reference point. And in terms of the width, I need to expand by 12 points. My gutter spacing is 12 points. So I want six points either side…
