- [Instructor] Unlike a file, you don't just delete a program you no longer need or use. Whatever the reason, whether you need the storage space or you don't need the program, uninstall software properly. To evict an application from Windows, open the Settings app. Press the Windows and I keyboard shortcut. Choose Apps. And select the program you want to remove. For example, I'll uninstall the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Click the Uninstall button, and then click Uninstall to confirm. If you're prompted with a user account control, click the Yes button, and the program is removed. This process doesn't remove any documents associated with or files created by the program. If you remove a painting program, for example, it doesn't remove any associated image files. Some programs may require additional steps. Read the prompts that appear on the screen.
