- [Narrator] Sentiment analysis is a text analysis technique that infers opinions, sentiments, emotions, and attitude from entities, such as products, services, organization and event from data and classifies them according to polarity, which I'll talk about shortly. Now, the sentiment can be explicit where the text directly expresses an opinion. For example, this dress is beautiful. So for obvious reason explicit sentiments are easier to analyze. On the other hand, a sentiment can be implicit where the opinion is implied. For example, the dress is a bargain. The statement could be categorized as an excitement or is it just a factual statement with no sentiment? Now , depending on how you use sentiment analysis, it can also be called opinion mining, subjectivity analysis, appraisal extraction, or polarity classification.
