To recap, static websites don't rely on dynamic processing, databases, or server side languages and can be published on any type of hosting server, but there are also many providers specifically for static websites. One option is GitHub Pages. If you're not familiar with Git and GitHub and want to know more, I recommend checking out one of the many courses in the LinkedIn Learning Library. So how does GitHub Pages work? Well, it turns your repositories into websites. Before I jump into an overview, note that some of the instructions on this page are out of date, so I would suggest going to the Pages Help link, in the top right hand corner, for the latest documentation.
