- Being able to automate parts of how a business operates has been essential to organizations for decades. Doing this well and doing this better than competitors has often been a critical success factor for business growth and success. AI systems can be used to enhance business automation, often dramatically so. But before we explore that, let's first briefly establish how business automation occurs without AI involved. Business automation is typically carried out by software or an app that we buy or build to automate one or more tasks. These types of business apps are generally pre-programmed to automate tasks in certain ways. They can often be configured to customize certain functions, and they will generally also have conditional logic that deal with certain conditions, such as errors or invalid entries, using predefined functionality.
