课程: Foreign Exchange Fundamentals

Course introduction

- Hello, my name is Guy O'Loughnane, and I will be presenting this CFI course entitled Foreign Exchange Essentials. I have been fortunate enough to have worked in the foreign exchange markets since the early 1990s. During this period, I've traded various foreign exchange, or FX, products in a variety of different currencies. I've also had the opportunity to do this in many of the world's major financial centers. In our interconnected world, foreign exchange markets provide the necessary link between countries ensuring the efficient flow of trade and investment. Foreign exchange demand, whether for commercial, financial, or personal reasons, has risen over the last 50 years to create the single largest asset market in the world. This market operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Liquidity may vary at certain times of the year due to national holidays, but a price is always available. This course will give you great insight into the development of foreign exchange markets and an understanding of the various foreign exchange regimes that currently exist. This will give you the necessary building blocks required to learn more about advanced topics that will be covered in subsequent courses. Throughout this course, you will be watching video lectures, participating in interactive exercises, and applying your knowledge in case studies. At the end of the course, you will take a qualified assessment to test what you have learned. Foreign exchange is essential for anyone involved in the capital markets to understand. So, this course forms an important prerequisite for CFIs, capital markets, and securities analyst program.
