Now this might sound familiar since this is exactly how copy and paste works in your operating system. However, in the case of FileMaker script variables, instead of having just one location in system memory to store any data that's been copied, variables let you declare and store data in multiple locations. Now a couple of quick notes about script variables. There are two kinds of script variables, local and global. Local variables are only available while the script in which they're defined is running, and then cease to exist as soon as that script concludes.
