- [Instructor] So what is a script trigger? Well, we've already discussed creating scripts to help automate processes within your FileMaker database. But creating a script is really just half the battle, because in order for a script to run, it needs to be triggered. So since triggering a script is necessary, it's a good idea to get familiar with the different ways that you can do that. We've already discussed that when you're in Layout mode, you can pick a button, or really any Layout object, and you can assign an action to it. That's the most customary way to trigger a script, and that option has been around for some time. There's also the ability to use the Scripts menu to trigger a script. You'll see that we've got a couple different scripts here, and if I right-click on one of them, I can say Include in the Scripts menu.
