- [Instructor] Kinetico buys materials from suppliers all around the world. Selecting the right suppliers involves evaluating multiple factors, but price is often one of the most critical. In this video, I'll show you how to use Excel to compare supplier prices and make data-driven purchasing decisions. To perform a supplier price comparison, you'll need to gather the following key pieces of information from each supplier: the item description, which is a clear description of the product or service; the unit price, how much they're going to charge you for each one; and I recommend using your total landed cost, including inventory holding costs, or your total cost of ownership for your unit price. And then the quantity, the number of units you plan to purchase, and any additional costs; anything extra like shipping, handling, or other discounts.
