- [Instructor] You can build a basic toggle in an Excel model simply by using the IF function, but Excel, if you're looking to do something a little slicker, also has dropdowns that you can easily add. Let's take a look at an example. I'm in the 02_05_Begin file. So we have here our model, and this allows us to go through and update the impact on sales based on whether or not we have seasonality. Now, there's a couple issues here. First of all, if we don't include seasonality, what we actually see is all year, we're at January sales levels. Well, that's probably not what we want to have, right? What we're really saying, if we don't want to include seasonality, is I don't know exactly what months are going to be the most predictable or not. I know what my sales will be, I think, for the whole year. It's not going to rain every single day. I just don't know if January is truly going to be slower than February or not.
