The offboarding experience
- Off-boarding. Gosh, as a leader, the fear of losing your talent, does it look bad? Even if that talented person goes to another team, I feel like, why do they leave me? It's so personal as a manager sometimes. And when you think about off-boarding as a key moment of your employee experience, how do you want that candidate, that employee to feel? In those moments of the bravery, because it is brave to resign. You have to have conviction to resign, I'm going, and hopefully you're running towards something beautiful because you shouldn't have run away. Let's assume in this case you're running towards something. In that off-boarding moment, in that moment you decide that your next journey, next career path has to do something else from basket, weaving the pottery, whatever it is, how do you show up? How do you tell your manager and your team? How do you tell your story about why? And hopefully it's a bittersweet story.…
